ABORTION RIGHTS: In her Instagram story in August 2021, Biles wrote “I’m very much pro-choice. Your body. Your choice.” She also retweeted disapproval of the repeal of Roe v. Wade in June 2022.

LGBTQ+ RIGHTS: Biles has tweeted multiple times of her support of the LGBTQ+ community. On November 2, 2020, she responded to hate on an Uber Eats commercial she appeared in with non-binary “Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness, saying “The LGBTQIA will always have my support and feel welcome on my socials.” On March 23, 2023, she tweeted her disapproval of a new Ugandan anti-LGBTQ bill, saying “Love is love.” She has also retweeted multiple pro-LGBTQ+ tweets, including ones celebrating pride month, and one saying how we must “protect trans kids”.

RACIAL JUSTICE AND POLICE BRUTALITY: Biles retweeted a series of tweets around the outrage of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor’s murders in 2020. She changed her twitter banner to #BlackLivesMatter around June 2020, and retweeted many tweets with the hashtag. On Instagram on June 2, 2020, Biles joined in posting a black square for #BlackOutTuesday, a social media movement to protest and mourn in response to the death of George Floyd.

VOTING RIGHTS: In an Instagram post on November 3, 2020, Biles posted “VOTE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT & WEAR YOUR MASKS💙” with a picture of her wearing a “More than a Vote” hat, a nonprofit organization founded in 2020 by LeBron James and other black athletes and entertainers aimed at fighting African-American voter suppression.

DEMOCRATIC SUPPORT: After Biden’s win on November 7, 2020, Biles posted a picture of Biden and Harris with the caption “😭😭😭💙💙💙 HISTORY!!!!!!”. She also retweeted many people celebrating the victory, and quote retweeted Kalama Harris’ tweet saying “We did it @JoeBiden”, responding with hearts. Biles also follows Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a democratic US representative.
